I confess, I remembered a bit differently. In a previous post I told you that as Grand Marshall of the 1998 London Santa Claus Parade, I never made it to air.

That's not quite accurate.

After I wrote that post, I thought I'd reach out to CFPL (now CTV2) to see if they had a copy. They did! Sixty-five dollars later I have a copy of the broadcast and I stand corrected.

I DID make it to air - for entire 39 seconds, HOWEVER, the trick I had planned specifically for the cameras and the hosts - if you listen you hear me say 'What's a parade without snow?' - never made it to air and I never got a close-up.

You'll also notice that the talk doesn't match with the video. The hosts are saying 'Hi' as the camera is focussing on the float behind me.

But at least now I have a record of it.
